A triennial event organized at initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Communication, LA FORCE DE L’ART aims to put on stage contemporary French creation and the artists who bring it about, with all the diversity of their origins and aesthetic choices. This second FORCE DE L’ART 02 will be presented in the Nave of the Grand Palais in Paris, from April 24th to June 1st 2009.

Three renowned figures are responsible for curating LA FORCE DE L’ART 02: Jean-Louis Froment, Jean-Yves Jouannais and Didier Ottinger. They associated architect Philippe Rahm with their project.

LA FORCE DE L’ART 02 splits into four Space-Times. A multiplicity of places, scenes and circuits, offering visitors original, varied and intense artistic experiences. So many events and singular worlds, responding to and encountering each other.

Locus Sonus and the "Virtuals" programme

In partnership with Synesthésie, an invitation is extended to a group of "Virtual" artists who, through digital networks, will infiltrate LA FORCE DE L’ART 02. Every day a different artistic proposal will appear both on the big screen at the Grand Palais and online, on the Internet. During the course of these special encounters, certain of these works, as they are materialized in the Nave, will reveal an unexpected, augmented or renewed aspect.

Présentation

Manifestation triennale, organisée à l’initiative du Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication, LA FORCE DE L’ART a pour ambition d’offrir une scène à la création contemporaine en France et aux artistes qui l’animent, dans la diversité de leurs origines et de leurs choix esthétiques. Deuxième édition de cette manifestation, LA FORCE DE L’ART 02 se déploiera à partir de la nef du Grand Palais à Paris, du 24 avril au 1er juin 2009.

Trois personnalités de renom sont chargées du commissariat de LA FORCE DE L’ART 02: Jean-Louis Froment , Jean-Yves Jouannais et Didier Ottinger . Ils ont associé à leur projet l’architecte Philippe Rahm.

LA FORCE DE L’ART 02 est l'éclatement de l'art en plusieurs Espaces–Temps. Des lieux, des scènes et des parcours multiples, offrant aux visiteurs des expériences artistiques originales, variées et intenses. Autant de manifestations et d'univers singuliers, qui se répondent et se croisent.

Une invitation est faite à un ensemble d’artistes qui, par le biais des réseaux numériques, s'infiltreront dans LA FORCE DE L'ART 02. Chaque jour, une proposition artistique différente apparaîtra à la fois sur grand écran dans le Grand Palais et en ligne sur internet. Au cours de rendez-vous particuliers avec ces artistes certaines de ces œuvres révèleront une dimension inédite, amplifiée ou renouvelée.

La programmation a été confiée à Anne-Marie Morice et les oeuvres proviennent du Centre d’art virtuel de Synesthésie.

Locustream, un audio Tardis : Marseille, Dakar, Boston, Amsterdam, Reykjavik, New-York, Lagos, Solleftea, Paris, Santa Barbara, Baltimore, Québec, Chicago, etc.

Un voyage sonore télé-phonographique parmi plusieurs micros ouverts du projet Locustream développé par le laboratoire Locus Sonus. Les sons que l'on écoute sont transmis en direct de lieux distants où des complices, prenant part au projet, ont mis en place des microphones qui "streament" en permanence des "paysages sonores" via Internet. La programme en ligne est une interface d'écoute qui permet de voyager automatiquement et en temps réel d'un stream à un autre, d'un lieu capté à un autre.
