Residence

Locus Sonus is collaborating with ESAA, ENSA Bourges and Seconde Nature to recruit three resident artists/researchers for a period of three months leading up to the next edition of the Locus Sonus Symposium “Audio Mobility”. Candidates should have an artistic or research project resonating with the theme described above. The proposed project can be partially completed or prospective however, the candidate will be expected to present his or her research during the symposium.
Locus Sonus will offer critical feedback and advice, access to the technical facilities of ESAA and dedicated help from an experienced Pure Data programmer (notably for projects involving LibPd running under android). Seconde Nature will facilitate public presentations of the ongoing research.

Stipend

A global stipend of 3000€ par laureate will be expected to cover all costs (living expenses, travel, materials). Basic accommodation can be made available.

Laureates may chose not to pass the whole of the residency period in Aix en Provence however, they will be expected to participate in the life of the lab, notably in regards to the organization of the symposium and animation of a workshop involving students from different French art schools and dedicated to the theme of Mobility (one week in April 2014).

Candidates must provide a detailed description of their project (maximum 2000 words) which should include:

1. The way in which the project relates to the theme of audio mobility.
2. The main aim of the research and/or projected form of the artwork.
3. Technical requirements.
4. Principal techniques involved.
5. Projected periods of residency.
6. And registration to the symposium (paper/poster or artistic presentation)

Résidence

En collaboration avec l'ESA Aix en Provence, l'ENSA Bourges et Seconde Nature, Locus Sonus recrute 3 artistes/chercheurs pour une période allant de janvier à fin avril 2014 (date du Symposium “Audio Mobilité”).
Les candidats doivent avoir une pratique artistique et un sujet de recherche en lien avec la thématique de l'Audio Mobilité.
Le projet soumis peut être partiellement achevé ou prospectif. Les candidats sélectionnés devront présenter leur recherche et leurs travaux en cours pendant le symposium.
L'équipe de Locus Sonus apportera un accompagnement critique, des conseils et mettra à disposition l'environnement technique disponible à l'École Supérieure d'Art d'Aix-en-Provence, ainsi que des compétences techniques avec la mise à disposition d'un programmeur PureData (notamment pour les projets impliquant l'utilisation de LibPD pour Android). Seconde Nature offrira un cadre de présentation publique de la recherche en cours.

Bourse

Une bourse de 3000 euros permettra à chaque lauréat de couvrir ses frais pendant 4 mois (hébergement, repas, déplacement et matériel). Possibilité d'hébergement spartiate.
Les lauréats ont le choix ne ne pas passer la totalité de la résidence à Aix en Provence, toutefois il leur sera demandé de participer activement à la vie du laboratoire, notamment à l'organisation du symposium, à l'animation d'un workshop d'une semaine, dédié au thème de la Mobilité et auxquels participeront des étudiants de différentes écoles d'art françaises. (avril 2014).

Les candidats doivent envoyer une description détaillée (max 2000 mots) de leur projet et recherche comprenant :

1. Un texte expliquant comment la recherche est liée au thème de la mobilité
2. L'objectif principal de la recherche et/ou la description du projet artistique
3. Les besoins techniques
4. Les détails des principales technologies utilisées
5. Le calendrier prévisionnel de la résidence
6. Et l'inscription au symposium (pour une conférence/exposé ou une présentation artistique)
